The Pleasanton Police Department will hold a sobriety and driver's license checkpoint tonight by Santa Rita Road and Pimlico Drive starting at 7 p.m. and lasting through 2 a.m.

Signs will notify approaching motorists about the checkpoint. Drivers may be delayed by an officer who will examine driver's licenses and to look for driving under the influence signs.

Funding for the checkpoint was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
