Last year's opening day broke records with 30,692 revelers visiting the 2012 fair.
This year, that number was beat as 31,389 people from all over the Bay Area attended the opening day on June 19, which offered fair-goers $1 admission and $1 rides.
Angel Moore, of the Alameda County Fair, says that opening day attendance was up 2.3 percent this year.
The fair runs through July 7.
