Pet Safety Tips for a Stress-Free Thanksgiving Feast

From Dogtopia:

With Thanksgiving upon us, your pet may be dreaming about turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing, but unfortunately there are harmful side effects that come along with theseholiday treats.

Dogtopia of Tri-Valley, a leading national dog daycare and spa franchise, offers the following tips tohelp pet parents keep their pets safe and healthy during the holiday season.

Prior to the Feast:

Turn a quiet room that is away from the holiday crowd into a cozy oasis for your pet.Take them shopping for a special chew toy in advance and pull it out when your gathering begins. It willoccupy their energies during those long family meals.

During the Feast:

Turkey itself does not pose great harm, but feeding it to your dog in the same form we eat it duringThanksgiving could leave your dog with an upset tummy.Avoid foods high in fat, such as poultry skin, which can cause inflammation. Poultry bones may splinter and become lodged in your pets' esophagus. Be sure to dispose of these in atrashcan with a lid to keep your pet out.

Post Feast:

Keep leftover food out of reach in tightly closed containers.
Dogtopia of Tri-Valley provides exceptional dog daycare, boarding and spa services to canines and their families traveling this holiday season. At Dogtopia of Tri-Valley, it is important that parents feel good about where they are leaving their dog to play, as well as trust that they are in the safest environment possible.

Dogs enjoy an open layout with play equipment and climate controlled playrooms. The division of dogs between rooms allows Dogtopia personnel to control air quality, minimize risk of disease, actively monitor play and minimize accidents as well as provide an overall stress-free atmosphere.

Throughout the month of November, Dogtopia of Tri-Valley boarding clients will also be able to participate in a special Thanksgiving Wishbone promotion where they can select a wishbone voucher randomly out of a bowl. Vouchers include a complimentary day of daycare, a 5-day daycare pass, complimentary spa bath and acomplimentary spa nail trim, which clients can redeem during their next visit.

Reducing stressful situations brought about by the holiday season is important for your peace of mind, as well as helping your pet enjoy the holidays too. Dogtopia of Tri-Valley is located at 7132 Johnson Drive, Pleasanton, CA.
