Girl Scout Strikes Gold with Five VHS Murals

Animal portrait artist Kathleen Hill recently completed a mural depicting Livermore for the Pleasanton Valley Humane Society. Hill volunteered her time and talent to assist Carly Krakauer in completing her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. Carly is a member of the Crossroads Service Unit of the Girl Scouts of North CA and a Senior at Amador Valley High School. Carly's year long project was to find five artists to donate their skills to paint five different murals on the visitor room walls at VHS in Pleasanton. Each mural represents one of the Tri-Valley cities of Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Danville and Dublin. The other artists who donated their talents were Yang Liu, Debbie Wardrope, and Megan Parks-Haller. Kathleen Hill, based in Livermore, combines her love of painting with her love of animals. She specializes in painting portraits of animals. Visitors are welcome to come and view all five paintings at VHS and to adopt the adorable cats and dogs that are waiting for new homes.
