16th Annual Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Read how tea and entertainment provide funds for needy children.

It’s time for tea!  The Assistance League is hosting their 16th annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Saturday, May 7th at the Aahmes Shrive Event Center in Livermore.

This year tea will feature guest speaker Alex Anderson, HGTV host of “Simply Quilts” and co-host of "The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims" seen exclusively on www.TheQuiltShow.com.  Alex is the author of 30 books selling nearly 1 million copies worldwide. She designs her own line of fabrics with P&B Textiles, and threads with Superior Threads.  Alex was chosen by the International Quilt Festival as the 2008 Silver Star Award winner.

Guests will enjoy tea, finger sandwiches, and delectable desserts at elegantly decorated tables while listening to pianist Angela Mastrantonio.  A champagne bar will be available to tea party guests.  In addition, the afternoon’s activities include the much anticipated Hat Contest, the Lucky Teacup sale, a silent auction, and numerous raffle prizes.

Tickets are $50 each and all proceeds benefit the philanthropic programs of the Assistance League, a non-profit, volunteer organization.

The Assistance League of Amador Valley provides new clothing and shoes to Tri-Valley elementary school children in need and creates Birthday Bags for children in shelters.  Their volunteers provide Assault Kits to rape and assault victims and participate in early eye screening at local preschools.  Members of the Assistance League also donate many hours in mentoring teen parents, visiting the elderly, and assisting many other outreach programs.
