Bring a Donation For a Solider, Get a Free Breakfast

Breakfast will be served on June 8 between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Delucchi Park in Pleasanton

Information from Pleasanton Military Families--

On Saturday, June 8th the Pleasanton Veterans of Foreign Wars post and other local service clubs such as the American Legion, Rotary Club of Pleasanton-North, Tri-Valley Rotary, Pleasanton Lions Club and several Boy Scout troops will host a free pancake breakfast at Delucchi Park to raise donations for the Pleasanton Military Families Support Group.

Breakfast will be served between 8:30am and 11:30am.  This event is convenient to those who shop at Farmers Market because Delucci Park is adjacent to the market.

At least three times a year, Pleasanton Military Families spends two days organizing and packing boxes for local service members who are deployed overseas.  About 180 care packages are assembled and mailed at each of these pack-outs.  Goods and money are needed for each pack-out.  Each box costs about $15 to mail to a deployed service member.

Pat Frizzell, who leads Pleasanton Military Families, says that our troops always appreciate receiving books, magazines, personal hygiene items, socks, non-
perishable snack food, and playing cards.  Since 2001, Pleasanton has always had more than a dozen service members deployed at any given time.  And she adds, "They love to also get a short personal note of thanks with these care packages.  So, please stop by the park for breakfast, drop off a donation and write a note to those who are deployed and defending our country."
