Call for Turkey Donations to Open Heart Kitchen

The Open Heart Kitchen is short 400 turkeys. Find out how you can help.

From Open Heart Kitchen:

Open Heart Kitchen Needs Turkeys. This year we are short almost 400
turkeys. Ideal turkey weight between five to ten lbs.You can purchase turkeys for donations at Safeway.com. If you order on line, you can have them delivered to Open Heart Kitchen 5200 Case Avenue in Pleasanton.

Those who purchase a turkey that is not delivered by Safeway.com can deliver the turkey directly to Ridgeview Commons Senior Living in Pleasanton at 5200 Case Avenue. They have a walk-in freezer and Open Heart Kitchen serves meals there daily.

Lucky's is have a special buy one get one free if you spend $50.00 on
grocery.

Some Safeway stores will give you a reduced price if you buy over five and
mention that it is a donations to Open Heart Kitchen, managers discretion.

According to the Open Heart Kitchen website: drop off turkeys to the Ridgeview Commons Senior Center located at 5200 Case Avenue in Pleasanton. Drop off anytime between 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays.

On Facebook, Sue Maxfield-Williams offers this tip for donating a turkey:

"Spend $30.00 at Fresh and Easy and you get a free turkey. I mentioned this to many of my customers the other night who didn't want the free turkey- I told them to donate it to Open Heart Kitchen."
