The 11th annual Bike to School promotion is just around the corner. The promotion is held in conjunction with the Bay Area Bike to Work Day, an effort of 511 Regional Rideshare, Kaiser Permanente, local bicycle coalitions and hundreds of volunteers, working together to encourage individuals to try bicycling to work as a healthy, fun, inexpensive and environmentally-friendly alternative to driving.
On Friday, May 13th, hundreds of middle school students in Pleasanton will gear up to commute on their bicycles for their annual bike to school day. The middle school promotion is sponsored by the City of Pleasanton in conjunction with the Pleasanton Unified School District and Bay Area Air Quality Management District. At some middle schools, cycling students will be greeted with refreshments the morning of May 13th as well as bicycling giveaways. Students are asked to review bike safety tips before riding to school.
