Maybe you have seen her ... or heard her playing her guitar on the Tully's corner in the 300 block of Main Street in Pleasanton on Saturday mornings.

Maddy Hudson, who has been singing since she was 6 years old, was spotted singing her heart out last Saturday entertaining those passing by to grab a cup of java and shop at the farmers' market.

Hudson says she lives three minutes away from Tully's Coffee and started singing on the weekends last November to pay for Christmas gifts.

"I wanted to pay for all of my Christmas gifts," Hudson said. "Singing out here on the weekends paid for all of them."

The Pleasanton teen, who is a junior at Foothill High School and a varsity water polo player, has developed a local following and says she has performed at private events to help her save for college.

After performing Saturday morning, Hudson was planning on going to the prom that night.

Do you know Maddy Hudson? Have you heard her singing? Give her a shout out in the comments section.

It's pretty awesome when you are reading the news and suddenly you see your child's name. I was very surprised! Thank you so much. And, thank you for writing the article. Maddy is passionate about her singing and this is what she wants to do with her life and it's nice for her to get acknowledged for her efforts. :)

Ashli! I love hearing that! Maddy was a great sport about my impromptu interview. These are my favorite kind of articles and they are exactly what makes Patch hyperlocal. I wish I could do these all day!
