High School Junior Sings Songs on Main Street to Save For School

Listen to Maddy Hudson of Pleasanton belt out 'Radioactive' for locals

By AUTUMN JOHNSON

Maybe you have seen her ... or heard her playing her guitar on the Tully's corner in the 300 block of Main Street in Pleasanton on Saturday mornings.

Maddy Hudson, who has been singing since she was 6 years old, was spotted singing her heart out last Saturday entertaining those passing by to grab a cup of java and shop at the farmers' market.

Hudson says she lives three minutes away fromΒ Tully's CoffeeΒ and started singing on the weekends last November to pay for Christmas gifts.

"I wanted to pay for all of my Christmas gifts," Hudson said. "Singing out here on the weekends paid for all of them."

The Pleasanton teen, who is a junior at Foothill High School and a varsity water polo player, has developed a local following and says she has performed at private events to help her save for college.

After performing Saturday morning,Β Hudson was planning on going to the prom that night.
