Lawsuit Filed Against Comedian Eddie Griffin for Pleasanton Comedy Club Disturbance

The water-tossing incident happened in 2012 and one of the women involved has filed a law suit.

A Bay Area woman has filed a civil law suit against comedian Eddie Griffin for a 2012 water-throwing incident where police were called to a local Pleasanton comedy club.

Griffin had a drink tossed at him by a woman in the audience while he was performing on stage at Tommy T's Comedy Steakhouse in Pleasanton on July 15, 2012. Celebrity gossip channel TMZ originally reported that after the woman threw her water at Griffin, he threw water back at her. 

According to a report by TMZ, Leslie Champlin claims she and her girlfriend were targeted during Griffin's stand-up routine and were later kicked out of the club after the water-throwing scuffle. 

TMZ reports that Champlain is "suing for civil rights violations, claiming she was discriminated against based on sexual orientation. She is also suing for battery and negligence, and demanding unspecified damages."
