Funeral services will be held on Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Valley Community Church

Services for Michael Dean, who died on Jan. 2, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. at Valley Community Church in Pleasanton. Dean, an award-winning vocalist, was most well-known in  the Tri-Valley as a musician and song-writer extraordinaire who spent his evenings at the Tully's corner in Pleasanton.

Patch contributor Sandra Kay wrote, via email:

"Dean died on Jan. 2 at 2:30 p.m. while at the Valley Care Hospital. He had both a lung and brain tumor, but died ultimately from pneumonia.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Irma Dean. He is survived by his daughter, Mellissa, and six brothers:  Jerry ("Mayor of Tully's Corner" in Pleasanton)  Ron (San Diego), Bob (San Fernando), Tom and wife Sussie (Manteca), Jim (Thousand Oaks) and Stan (Idaho)."
