1st Annual Firehouse Improv Festival
Join us for a celebration of improv at the 1st Annual Firehouse Improv Festival in Pleasanton, California. From long-form improv, live improvised hip-hop, a comedic improvised courtroom musical, to teen workshops, this is sure to be a 24-hour period of non-stop improv fun!
Well-known Bay Area improvised hip-hop sensations The Freeze will perform at the festival’s opening Friday 4/8 at 7:30pm. On Saturday 4/9 starting at 9:00am, teen participants (grades 6-12) will attend a series of workshops designed to immerse them in a more advanced world of improv with classes like “Musical Improv Games”, “Stage Combat for Improvisors”, and more!
The Firehouse Improv Festival concludes with a performance from The Super Dupers performing “Doo-Wop-Ner: An Improvised Small Claims Courtroom Musical” that debuted at the 2010 San Francisco Improv Festival, and a headlining performance from teen improv troupe, Creatures of Impulse, a favorite at the 2010 Teen Comedy Festival in Chicago, Illinois. Both closing performances take place on Saturday 4/9 at 7:30pm at the Firehouse Arts Center.
