Johnny Cash Musical Tribute

Pleasanton’s Firehouse Arts Center will host James Garner in a musical tribute to Johnny Cash.

Garner will take the audience on a musical journey of The Man in Black’s greatest hits as well as an expedition of his legendary life.  Performances of Cash’s songs will be interspersed with stories of his childhood and introduction to the music business, as well as the highlights and lowlights of his 48-year career.

Garner is not a Johnny Cash impersonator, but rather approaches his show with strong conviction, musical honesty, historical accuracy and heartfelt sincerity.

Garner’s band generates the original "Boom-Chicka-Boom" sound pioneered by Johnny Cash, Luther Perkins, and Marshall Grant in 1954.

Singing guitarist Garner is joined by Rick Duncan on bass, Steve Hutton on drums and Denny Colleret on vocals and guitar.
