Museum on Main M.O.M's Reading Time: Celebrate Divali

M.O.M.'s (Museum On Main's) Reading Time, a free literacy program designed to introduce preschool aged children to books and activities about the unique people, cultures, and events in their community.  M.O.M.'s Reading Time takes place the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10:00am at the Museum On Main, 603 Main Street in Pleasanton.

The theme for October is Celebrate Divali.  The event will fall at the end of the annual 5 day Indian holiday also known as the festival of lights.  Participants will enjoy two early reading books about Divali.  Following the story time, children will participate in holiday craft activities they can take home.  Activities include decorating diyas, traditional clay candle holders used to brighten the home, and making colorful flower door hangers to help celebrate the holiday.

No admission fee.  Donations are always accepted.  No reservations are required.  Playgroups and large groups are asked to please call in advance, 925-462-2766.
