Photo Gallery: Poetry and Prose Festival

The first day of the 9th Annual Poetry, Prose and Arts Festival was full of storytelling, music and celebration of the arts. The day began with a welcome from Mayor Jennifer Hosterman and an address from artist Bob Jenkins.

It was all about poetry, prose and the arts at the Senior Center this weekend.

Mayor Jennifer Hosterman welcomed participants at the beginning of the day, saying she was proud that the city has transformed into a place that embraces the arts over the past decade or so.

Artist Bob Jenkins was the keynote speaker. He gave some advice to budding writers, poets and musicians in the audience. He told them, among other things, how to be bold, but not too bold, how to put family first before career and to never be afraid to reinvent oneself. The 9th Annual Poetry, Prose and Arts Festival continues today from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
