The United States Marines will invade the weekly Friday evening Concert in the Park on August 31 with a rousing presentation of musical fare from their Brass Party Band. The concert is presented by the and held at on the corner of First and Neal Streets.

The 11-member brass band is part of the full marching band that will take part in the 147th Scottish Highland Gathering & Games at the fairgrounds September 1 and 2.  The musical interlude of talented musicians replaces the March Under the Arch that had been presented prior to the Scottish Games in past years.

The Marines will play from 6:30 to 6:55 p.m. as a prelude to the regular 'Concert in the Park".  Led by Gunnery Sergeant Jonathan Bley, the band will be attired in Marine Dress Blue uniforms.  Upon the completion of their stint in downtown Pleasanton they will return to the Marriott San Ramon where they will take part in a  concert along with the L.A. Scots Grade I Pipe Band and New Zealand's top solo performer Steve McDonald.

Many thanks to Police/Animal Services. Next order of business is to educate residents not to allowRead More ducks to nest on their property that is not adjacent to natural waterways or canals - it may seem cute, but it's cruel when the mama duck loses babies to cats and storm drains.
