First Wednesday Street Party in Photos

Portraits and shots of people around the street party

I arrived at the street party halfway through it around 7:30 p.m. The first thing I saw was the huge amount of people in attendance. It felt like the entire city was here, walking about, having fun and enjoying themselves.

As I walked around, I couldn't go for more than a few minutes without running into someone that I knew. There was a wide variety of things to see, including photographers, artists, fire trucks, musicians and of course, all the advertising booths.

The Dairy had a long line for ice cream, and a lot of the local restaurants seemed to be packed with customers.

To my surprise, everyone whom I asked for a portrait was very nice and easy to work with to get a nice shot. It was having subjects who were cooperative and happy to be photographed. I was just in San Luis Obispo a few weeks ago where it was more difficult to work with the people there.

While it may sound a bit boring with all the advertising booths, the Street Party is actually quite fun to go to with a group of friends. There are plenty of other interesting attractions like the art, food and music to keep you occupied.
