HomeAid Northern California announces the 11th Annual Trap Shoot will take place on Thursday, Sept 13th, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Livermore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club. Everyone is invited, from beginners to sharpshooters.
Since the inaugural HomeAid Trap Shoot in 2002, HomeAid has raised more than $1.5 million to help fund the construction of shelters for the transitionally homeless throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The first HomeAid Trap Shoot--a five-person team competition—was such a booming success, it became an annual event growing in popularity and success each year. Much of the event support over the years has come from the regional new home builders, suppliers and vendors, despite the challenging market conditions. Major sponsors for 2012 include Pulte Homes, Brookfield Homes, Denova Homes and Shapell Homes.
“The funds raised from this event will be used to support our extensive shelter development and HomeAid Care Programs in the Bay Area. Unlike any other time in America’s history, today’s homeless are primarily women, children and families and we need to do everything within our power to help them” said Matt Beinke, Chairman of the Board of HomeAid Northern California.
Activities for the Trap Shoot will include team competition as well as trophies for best male and female marksmen. All participants can enjoy a delicious lunch and entertainment. Event attendees can enter a raffle for premium prizes and can participate in the silent auction to bid on items like spa packages, vacation trips, sporting equipment, memorabilia and more. Cost for entrants is $200 each or $1,000 per five-person team.
“HomeAid Northern California wants to give special thanks to the Livermore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club and all the outstanding volunteers that have continued to support the HomeAid Trap Shoot over the years,” said Kirsten Fisher, HomeAid Program Manager. “Without them this event wouldn’t be possible and the money raised is critical in our fight to end homelessness.”
The Livermore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club maintains a strong commitment to community involvement as well as the development of gun skills and training. The Club provides everything for the shooting competition including guns, ear and eye protection, comprehensive safety training, ammunition and clay pigeons.

HomeAid Northern California is a 501c(3) non-profit organization founded in 1999 as the charitable arm of the Building Industry Association of the Bay Area. HomeAid has built 10 shelters for the transitionally homeless in nearly every county in the San Francisco Bay Area in collaboration with the homebuilding industry and its vendors, partners and suppliers. In addition to providing a safe, comfortable home, the shelters typically offer counseling and job training as core components of their programs – ultimately offering “a hand up, not a hand out”.
