The partnered with Livermore Downtown Inc. to deck the halls early this year by hosting the second annual “Earlier than the Bird” on Saturday.

Merchants throughout downtown opened at 7 a.m., enticing early morning shoppers with great deals on merchandise and refreshments.
drew in hundreds of customers with its beautifully decorated Christmas trees and great deals. Among their several sales was a 25 percent discount on all platters and Thanksgiving decorations.
brought in customers with two tables of books at 60 percent off. Owner Judy Wheeler handed out free calendars for any purchases over $25. As if that wasn’t enough, customers were offered coffee, tea, and Judy’s homemade breakfast risotto.
Refreshments were a big hit at many of the retailers’ shops.
Personal Chef Claudia Imatt from Shall We Dine treated patrons at the with her special Thanksgiving Bread Pudding.
Berry Patch also offered scratcher tickets to customers; those revealed as much as 20 percent their entire purchase.
Just a few doors down, caught the attention of several children with Chef Linda Wyner whipping up her morning batch of waffles.
Local radio station KKIQ also participated in the event.
The festivities continued into the evening with Pleasanton’s annual Magical Holiday Evening.
Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their entourage of elves descended upon Main Street to pass out candy canes and take photos with families.
Most downtown business stayed open late for holiday shoppers to grab special deals.
Especially popular this year were the local musicians that entertained pedestrians while they strolled past the decorated shop windows. Former Patch contributor Dan Taylor’s band Northern Static drew a fairly large crowd.
Musician Steven Gary also drew the attention of several onlookers.
While the spirit of Christmas is already in full swing on Main Street, there are many holiday events yet to come including the upcoming Pleasanton Hometown Holiday Celebration on December 3. Main Street will close to host their annual holiday parade.
