Free Comic Books at Heroes & Villains on May 5

More than 500 people attended this event last year.

will be holding its Free Comic Book Day 2012 event from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. May 5.

There will be Bay Area Ghostbusters on hand, plus DC Comics Birds of Prey and other costumed characters.

The store owners buy thousands of comics made just for this day and give them away free to anyone who stops by. Each person will get two free select comics, and each person who brings a food donation will get two more, for a total of four.

Last year, DC Comics put pictures of the store on their websites afterward. Also last year, they had the at the store – The Batmobile was recently featured on the TV series Comic Book Men as the coolest thing to ever grace a comic store.
