There's a lot of interesting items at Olde Town Antiques Mall, and one that qualifes is catgut in Joanne Holleman's booth.
Catgut isn't litterally cat guts from a cat. Wikipedia tells us that cutgut usually comes from sheep and goat intestines. It used to be used commonly in the United States for surgical procedures.
Holleman, who worked in the Pleasanton Unified School District for 32 years, was sold the catgut by a young college student whose grandfather was a surgen. He needed to raise money for tuition.
So how much do you think it costs? Take a guess in the comments section.
