Grab Lunch Today At Food-Truck Friday

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Hacienda and Owens, hosted by Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce.

Earlier this week, we told you about "," an Amador Valley High School fundraising effort held Tuesday evenings in the school parking lot.

But for food-truck fans who want more, we bring you "Food-Truck Fridays," a weekly lunch-hour event sponsored by the

Up to 10 food trucks are stationed every Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in a parking area on Hacienda and Owens drives, near Walmart and restaurant, said Susie Weiss, the chamber's manager of communications and special events.

"Whatever you're in the mood for, you're probably going to find that," Weiss said.

Particularly popular is the "That's Sweet" wagon, which sells cupcakes and gourmet desserts, she said.

Along with sweets, fare offerings vary each week to include such specialties as Thai, Vietnamese, Chicago-style hot dogs, burgers or Korean food, Weiss said.

Chamber employees set up tables and chairs for patrons, or folks can provide their own.

"Some people bring their own pop-up chairs," she added.

Food Truck Mafia runs the weekly food caravan as a chamber fundraiser, the same set-up it provides for Amador High, which is a fundraiser for its band program.

The chamber has hosted the mobile food service on and off for the past year on Tuesday evenings. Securing the Friday lunch time-slot began last week.

Weiss expects the Friday schedule to continue through November.
