Painters Readying Pleasanton Hotel Space for New Restaurant

Handles on Main will open in mid-August, taking the place of Farmer Restaurant.

Painters worked all day today covering parts of the Pleasanton Hotel's legendary pink facade with a dark brown.

They're readying the building for the opening of Handles on Main, which plans to move into the space in mid-August.

It will take the place of Farmer Restaurant, which closed in early June.

Dave Ritterbush, one of the new owners, says the new family-friendly "gastropub" will serve 30 craft beers, feature 16 local wines on tap and will boast "seasonally driven American comfort food" using local ingredients.

Highlights include house-smoked meats, a large menu of all-natural hamburgers, full entrees and even gluten-free options.
