Pleasanton Wants to Know How You Shop

A marketing campaign around the city's retail industry begins today by asking residents and non-residents to fill out a survey about their shopping habits in Pleasanton.

The city's Economic Development Department launched a marketing campaign today in an effort to improve the Pleasanton retail brand and attract more shoppers.

Part of the campaign asks both residents and non-residents who shop in Pleasanton to participate in a survey--asking them about their retail habits and why they chose to shop in town.

Those who are interested can go to www.pleasantonsurvey.com. The survey asks pariticpants where they shop, what they usually look for and to describe their retail experience in Pleasanton.

Pamela Ott, director of the economic development department, said the campaign aims to be thoughtful and applicable to the community's needs.

"We want it to be really about what Pleasanton has to offer and what our residents want to hear from us too," she said.

While the campaign will focus on retail initially, Ott said it could potentially be broadened to include the enitre business community.
