All Black Friday reminds me of is people who love their stuff and want to buy more stuff for them, their family and friends instead of using Thanksgiving for the reason it was intended.

I think it 's really sad that Thanksgiving has been corrupted by the greedy big box retailers where making $$ is way more important than the true value of the Holiday. Speaking to a employee who had to work the midnight shift at one of these stores, he had to try and sleep all day Thursday duirng the day so he could stay awake for his all nighter. That is just wrong. For employees who had to work, it does ruin their Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving has evolved into a day where it is not about spending time with those you love and value, it's now all about money...greed, money, loss of values. Look at the family that the bride was killed in the auto accident when the dad veered off the road (they think he fell asleep) after midnight shopping at the Outlets in Galt. Now, they have no daughter to celebrate life with, no marriage and it also effected the CHP they ran into. Just wrong...

When I was there I noticed that most of the shoppers were Asian - that is, they culturally have no Thanksgiving tradition. Perhaps the more Americanized ones, but I know lots of immigrants who have been here since the 70s and never celebrated Thanksgiving. Indians don't celebrate Thanksgiving.

...there are no outlets in Galt.

That is a very sad situation, yes. It is another reminder to buckle up, since that was how the 3 or 4 deaths occurred in that accident. They were ejected. That bride to be would still be getting married if she buckled up. It is also a reminder to not drive while drowsy; that is just as dangerous as driving under the influence. The Outlet in Galt is not to blame, it is the decisions of the cars occupants that led to this tragedy, unfortunately. Buckle up and don't drive while drowsy....
