Tri-Valley Target Shopper Victim of 'Skimming'

Has anyone else's information been used after shopping at a Target in the Tri-Valley?

If you happened to have shopped at Target between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15, you'll want to keep a close eye on your account statements.

Target confirmed a security breach Thursday morning that says nearly 40 million credit or debit cards may have been breached.

A local San Ramon Valley resident posted on Facebook that her card was skimmed and used after she shopped at the Target in San Ramon on Nov. 27. Luckily, her bank alerted her to a suspicious transaction in Los Angeles weeks later, and she was able to quickly cancel her card.

While it's unclear how the hackers gained the information, it's clear what they were able obtain bank card names, credit or debit card numbers, card’s expiration dates and the three-digit security codes (CVV), according to a statement from Target.
