Sprouts & Shutters: Girasole Grill Closed

Sept. 22 was the restaurant's final day. Find out what will be replacing the Italian restaurant. Share your memories about Girasole with us.

The Girasole Grill in Pleasanton is no longer. The restaurant, which has been serving Italian cuisine in Pleasanton for 20 years, has closed.

Owner Skip Hinsley says it was simply time to sell the business.

"I am an old guy," said Hinsley. "My age, health reasons... I just couldn't keep up with the 24/7 needed for both the restaurant and catering. I sold it and it has been bought by someone who will open an Indian restaurant in the same building. The volume at the restaurant had slowed considerably and declined due to the location— we were not downtown."

Hinsley also owns the Pampered Palate Catering and says he will be focusing his energy on that.

"Many of my staff will move over to work with the catering," Hinsley said.

According to Hinsley, he is combining the Pampered Palate Catering with A Tasteful Affair Catering in Pleasanton.
