Sprouts & Shutters: Jersey Mike's Debut Helps Pleasanton Schools

The sub shop is scheduled to open on Jan. 15 in Pleasanton. Read on to find out about how you can get a free sub while donating to Pleasanton schools.

Jersey Mike's sub shop owners David, Cody, and Bennett Ball and Michael and Beverly Mills are introducing themselves to the Pleasanton community by offering free food for a worthy cause.

10,000 coupons are circulating around town offering a free sub sandwich at the new Jersey Mike's when customers make a "minimum $1 contribution to the Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation."

Consider their fundraiser their grand opening. The sandwich shop is replacing the former Starbucks coffee shop at 6654 Koll Center Parkway. The store officially opens on Jan. 15 and the fundraiser benefitting PPIE will run through Jan. 19. Customers must bring the coupon to take advantage of the offer, according to a statement released by Jersey Mike's.

“This is our third Jersey Mike’s location and I have come to find just how rewarding it is to open our doors and support the community,” said Bennett Ball in the statement.  “The Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation is regarded as such an integral aspect to the local education system and we couldn’t think of a better grand opening partnership.  We feel so lucky to be welcomed with open arms here in Pleasanton and we are grateful for this opportunity to bring the Jersey Mike’s brand and culture to this community.”

She added, “We hire so many local high school students to be on our team and we find that supporting the education system is just another way to give back to our valued crew members.  Opening a Jersey Mike’s location is a lot like opening the doors to our own home and we look forward to creating new and lasting relationships here.”

According to the company website, there are now 1000 Jersey Mike's nationwide since the first sub shop was founded in 1956. Jersey Mike's menu serves sandwiches made with the authentic taste of the Jersey Shore.
