Sprouts & Shutters: 'Meatball Mondays' at Mangia Mi

The Italian restaurant opened on Aug. 15 and is enticing diners with a meaty special

Mangia Mi fans living in Pleasanton no longer need to trek up I-680 to Danville to enjoy "Meatball Mondays." On Aug. 15, owner Peter Cedolini opened a second Mangia Mi at 234 Main Street in Pleasanton, bringing with him a popular weekly meatball special.

"Every Monday night we offer 50 percent off any meatball dish for adults when you dine with us (no take out orders)," Meghan Dager, Mangia Mi's general manager said. "We call it 'Meatball Monday' and it has been a huge success with building our regular business in Danville, so we are hoping to bring some of that mojo to the Pleasanton location. "

According to Dager, the Italian restaurant's most popular items include hand rolled gnocchi with Gorgonzola cream, the rigatoni carbonara, and huge portions of meat lasagna.

Dager calls Mangia Mi's wine list "Cal-Ital" referencing the California and Italian wine labels offered and says the restaurant also has a full bar and beer on tap.

Mangia Mi serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 pm. daily and dinner Sundays through Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays they are open until 10 p.m.
