Sprouts & Shutters: Rancho Grande Taqueria Reopening

Closed for almost a year due to a fire, the restaurant is reopening

Almost a year after an early morning kitchen fire severely damaged the inside of Rancho Grande Taqueria, the popular Mexican restaurant is reopening.

Owner Victorio Hernandez says the official grand opening is Sept. 15 and fans can expect the same menu items as before. 

"It has been a hard year," Hernandez said. 

According to Hernandez, the taqueria will now be open at 7 a.m. for breakfast and will also have a live band every Sunday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting in October. 

Rancho Grande Taqueria is a well-known favorite of Pleasanton local, John Madden and Hernandez says Madden already has plans to be back to eat as soon as the restaurant is open for business.

The on Sept. 19, 2012 started around 5:17 a.m. and fire officials told Patch in a previous article that the fire may have started inside from stove that had been left on. The fire was reported by a trash collector who saw the flames and called for help.

Rancho Grande is located at 2707 Hopyard Road in Pleasanton.
