Sprouts & Shutters: Goju Ryu Karatedo, Strizzi's and Parisi Speed School

Here's the latest roundup of retail, restaurant and other business news and happenings in Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin

A new karate school has opened in Pleasanton. Goju Ryu Karatedo began offering instructions in mid-January. They are located in the Club One Pleasanton facility, 5860 W. Las Positas Blvd. The school offers karate instruction for adults as well as children. It's owned by Sanjit Mandal.

Two new fitness facilities have opened under one roof in Livermore. A 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport gym began operating in mid-December at 2650 Kitty Hawk Road. In mid-January, a Parisi Speed School began offering classes inside the large gym. The school focuses on youth fitness. It has an indoor turf field and will be adding an outdoor turf and track.

Liberty Tax Service has moved one of its offices in Livermore. The tax preparation office that was on First Street is now operating at 1519 N. Vasco Road. It's owned by Agustin Lopez. He also owns the Liberty Tax office at 1358 Railroad Ave.

Strizzi's restaurant on Camino Tassajara in Danville closed about two weeks ago. A message on the restaurant's voicemail thanks customers for their 20 years of business. Strizzi's still has restaurants open in Pleasanton, Livermore and Fremont.

A new school for early childhood development has opened in San Ramon. The Goddard School started classes on Jan. 14 at its facility at 100 Gatekeeper Road. There are 400 Goddard campuses across the country. The San Ramon school is the first in the Bay Area and the third in California. It has a capacity for 130 students. It has programs for toddlers through school age children.

A Body Mechanix fitness center is in full swing in its new San Ramon location. The facililty opened last October at 12811A Alcosta Blvd. Owner Dan Farrier said he's enjoying the San Ramon location and business is good. Body Mechanix also has two centers in San Leandro.
