Do you know of any congressional representatives, from either party, who you consider to be independent of their "party line"? My impression is that there is a lot more party discipline now than 10 or 20 years ago.

Rep. Swalwell, While you are back in Washington enjoying free daycare, lunch, a salary, retirement and healthcare benefit, etc. that are uncut could you please take time out from all of your perks to explain this: "The Marine Corps is the only service to have lost tuition assistance." Thucydides said it best when he wrote "A nation that makes a great distinction between its scholars and its warriors will have its laws made by cowards and its wars fought by fools." Why is there money for the federal government to underwrite antique dealers as a green job, advertisements begging people to get their free government phone, but no money for the men and women who serve our country?

Rep Swalwell, Why is it that the government is giving away free cell phones with 250 minutes and 250 texts. And your boss cuts White House tours while he jets off to play golf?

Just in: "The Army announced today the suspension of its tuition assistance program, which helps active-duty and reserve soldiers pay for college courses and other education opportunities." Service men and women want their degrees and certificates, and our nation needs for them to be education. This was a promise made to a person who pledged to serve and defend their country and president. Being people of honor, they kept their side of the bargain! Before we fund and supply the military of Egypt and feed the soldiers in Syria, shouldn't we take care of our own soldiers?
