Alameda County Meals on Wheels presents the 3rd Annual Wheels for Meals Ride

Proceeds to benefit warm meal delivery for home-bound seniors.

Alameda County Meals on Wheels has announced its bike ride through the Livermore Valley on Oct. 22 with routes for every skill level.

Proceeds support the six Alameda County Meals on Wheels’ programs that deliver 2,200 warm meals to home-bound seniors daily. Each meal costs $6 to prepare and deliver, but funding levels leave a deficit of $2.25 per meal, according to the organization.

Here are check-in details:

7:00 AM for the 70-mile ride
8:00 AM for the 35-mile ride
9:00 AM for the 15-mile ride
There is NO same day registration

Anyone who would like to get some exercise and help feed the hungry is invited. For families and beginners, there's a 15-mile route, and then a 35-mile route for those who want to push themselves a bit more. Then there's a 70-mile route for experienced cyclists looking for a challenge. All routes are fully supported with rest stops and SAG vehicles.

Riders will meet at , 2500 Stanley Boulevard, Pleasanton, CA.

Cost - Prior to October 8:
$20 for the 15 mile route
$45 for the 35 mile route
$55 for the 70 mile route

The registration fee includes a commemorative T-shirt, post ride BBQ, route maps, fun rest stops with food and beverages, volunteers, first aid supplies, radio and SAG support, and ride marshals for encouragement and safety. Also this year, there will be a live band at the BBQ and Sunshine Susan’s Solar Powered Ice Cream Parlor!
