Did You Get Stuck In This? Big Rig Carrying Carnival Ride Jackknifed on I-580

CHP estimates that the road would reopen entire around noon.

Bay City News — A big-rig truck carrying a carnival ride jackknifed on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Castro Valley and blocked two lanes of traffic late this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Three lanes were initially blocked after the trailer spun out on the freeway near Eden Canyon Road at around 10:45 a.m.

The trailer landed in the two right lanes and the truck stopped in the left lane, CHP officials said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 11:11 a.m. CHP officials estimated that the road would reopen entirely at around noon. However, traffic was still backed up at least an hour after that.
