Just Released: Police Department Annual Report, CORE Fundraiser Update

According to the report, the city had a 19.5 crime rate per capita in 2009, the lowest it's been since 1988.

Pleasanton Police Department Releases Annual Report:

The Pleasanton Police DepartmentΒ  released its annual report yesterday, which indicated that the total number for violent and property crimes decreased from 1,567 to 1,370.

This drop represents an 11 percent decline in property crimes. However, the number of violent crimes remained the same from 2008. According to theΒ  report, Pleasanton had one of the lowest per capita crime rates since 1988.

Pleasanton Partnerships in Education announced the latest on the Community Outreach for Education Campaign. The district-wide fundraising effort is trying to raise money for technology specialists and library assistants at the middle school and elementary schools. High schools will get funds for hardware and software support.The total is now more than $111,ooo at the high school, middle school and elementary levels (there are also additional funds not designated to a specific school level).
