A Look Back: Pleasanton, Tri-Valley Celebrates Veterans Day

Throughout the week, Tri-Valley residents honored local veterans through a parade, ceremonies and special presentations.

Throughout the nation, military men and women were recognized as part of the country's Veterans Day celebration.

Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley were no different. Here, residents honored those who served in military service in a number of ways.

On Nov. 7, the American Legion Post 237 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6298 put together the annual, which included about 80 units and organizations. Jeb Bing from the announced the groups.

After the parade, a ceremony was held featuring keynote speaker  Rear Adm. Jud Scott.

This week, the  with an all-day program of speeches and discussions with veterans. On Nov. 10, , who were onboard the USS Arizona during the attack against Pearl Harbor, visited the campus.

During Thursday's football rival game between Amador Valley High School and Foothill High School, local veterans made a special presentation before kickoff. Veterans among the spectators were also asked to stand up and be recognized.
