Relay for Life Volunteers Put Up 130 Ribbons in Downtown Pleasanton

They also handed out taffy.

Volunteers from the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life team breezed through the heat yesterday, putting up over 130 purple ribbons along Main St. in downtown Pleasanton.

Volunteers also tossed out purple taffy courtesy of Cupid's Tooth, waved "purple terrible towels," and gave flyers to local businesses to post.

They visited City Hall, the police station, Pleasanton Library, radio station KKIQ, the Pleasanton Downtown Association and the Chamber of Commerce where they passed out taffy to the staff.

At the library, the group met up with Rep. Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton) before he spoke with constituents there.

Haddy KC Salazar kept her camera busy in addition to tying ribbons.
Event Chairperson Florine Johnston expects a strong turnout for the July 23 event.
