SB I-680 Accident in Sunol Caused Heavy Traffic out of Pleasanton

Media outlets reported that a fatal crash on SB I-680 in Sunol shut down two lanes of the highway.

KGO-TV  reported that emergency crews were on the scene on a portion of southbound I-680 in Sunol.

The report said two vehicles overturned near Andrade Road at about 10 a.m.

At 11:20 a.m., there was heavy traffic on I-680 towards San Jose  starting at the Bernal Avenue entrance in Pleasanton. Two lanes were shut down at the time as the investigation continued.

At 2:30 p.m., traffic was flowing smoothly on I-680 SB.

KTVU reports the accident was caused by two pickup trucks that collided with each other. One of the drivers was arrested for a suspected DUI. The other, identified as a Livermore man, died from the crash.
