A round-up of activities this weekend.

From books to healthy eating, there are plenty of events going on in Pleasanton this weekend. Towne Center Books is celebrating Kids Otter Read Day, a celebration of children and teen writers in the Bay Area. Towne Center will host a number of authors. There will be games, readings and refreshments. The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Good Food Festival is free and open to all ages. The event, held at the Pleasanton Senior Center, will focus on how to make healthy choices when it comes to foods, how to read labels, how to cook organically, and how to make healthy snacks for kids.Β 

Heroes and Villains Comics will be celebrating Free Comic Book Day. Comic book shops across the county give away selected comic books for free to anyone come into the store. No purchases are required. Heroes and Villain is open tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

It's the last weekend to catch Ahoy! Treasure Island at the Amador Theater. The play is an adventure story filled about ships and pirates. The play is showing 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on May 1 and 2 p.m. on May 2.
