Women's Health Day Planned for Saturday
Patrons can get cholesterol screenings, take their blood pressure and get assistance with Social Security and Medicare benefits
Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, is hosting Women's Health Day this Saturday, where people can get health screenings and information about benefits.
The event will go from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at ValleyCare Medical Center, 5555 W. Los Positas Blvd.
Health care providers will be on hand to offer blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, and patrons can get information about nutrition, mammograms, osteoporosis, breast cancer resources and family preparedness.

Members of McNerney's staff will be on hand to answer questions from attendees seeking assistance from a federal agency, including information on Social Security and Medicare benefits, along with services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
McNerney will speak at noon.
