PLEASANTON MEMORIAL DAY EVENT MAY 26, 2014 SOUTH LAWN SENIOR CENTER

MEMORIAL DAY IN PLEASANTON MONDAY MAY 26, 2014. Memorial Day begins at the Pleasanton Senior Center located at 5353 Sunol Blvd on the south lawn with patriotic music at 10:30 am under the leadership of Band Director Bob Williams. It will be followed by Pleasanton American Legion Post 237 and VFW Post 6298 color guard presenting the colors at 11:00 am to open our Memorial Day program. We have put together a great program for the public to enjoy. Colonel Paul Marnon of Camp Parks is our keynote speaker. He has served in many hostile environments in his long military career with the most recent in Afghanistan before his Camp Parks assignment. Hear what Col. Marnon has to say about our great military tradition and the meaning of Memorial Day. Listen to words about the ultimate sacrifice many have made so we may be free to enjoy the fruits of our great nation. Bring your own chair or use ours but come and pay your respect to those who sacrificed their lives for all of us. Come and greet those who serve today and meet many veterans who served yesterday. Its a great patriotic day to show your support for our military while paying homage to those who are no longer with us. Memorial Day is a very special day in our countries history but we must not forget we still have members serving our country from the Horn of Africa to the sands of the Sinai desert these are the true American heroes. Many of these heroes are your next door neighbors. Please come and show your gratitude and respect to our military who serve today.  They only ask you respect our fallen on this solemn day in American history. Come and share Memorial Day at the  Pleasanton Senior Center and show your support to our heroes. Our two Pleasanton cemeteries have over 500 Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Mariners buried at our cemeteries, please come and say thank you to real American heroes. On behalf of Pleasanton American Legion Post 237 and VFW Post 6298 we salute our fallen heroes.
