Secular Roth Hashanah
Tri-Valley Cultural Jews (TVCJ) will hold Secular Jewish New
Year observances at 7 p.m., Wed., Sept.
4 at the Bothwell Center, 2466 8th St. Livermore.
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, will be celebrated with
a non-religious hour-long child-friendly program of music and readings in
English, followed by the traditional apples & honey. Suggested donation: $10 per adult
non-member of TVCJ. (No charge for
children.) We are also collecting
canned or boxed food for the food bank.
Tri-Valley Cultural Jews serves those whose Jewish identity is based on culture, heritage and family, rather than on religion. The organization sponsors holiday and sabbath celebrations, educational and cultural activities, and a Jewish Culture School leading to a Secular Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Non-traditional families and intermarried households are welcome. TVCJ is an affiliate of the Congress of Secular Jewish Organizations.
