American Red Cross Inter-Faith Blood Drive

(www.redcrossblood.org)Inter-Faith Blood DriveThe American Red Cross, together with the Interfaith Community of Northern California, celebrates thegift of life. In the month of July, we will implement the largest blood drive in Northern California RedCross History as well as the largest church-organized blood drive in the national organization’s history.The drive has an ambitious goal to collect 1,500 units of blood in July and will take place on 24 differentdays and locations in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.Each year the Red Cross distributes about 120,000 units of blood in the San Francisco Bay Area butreceives an average of only 92,000 units in local collections, the deficit coming from other areas.The Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, July 30 from 8am to 2pm at the LDS Chapel, 6100 PaseoSanta Cruz in Pleasanton (corner of Valley & Paseo Santa Cruz). Additional locations will be inLivermore on July 15th at the Livermore LDS Chapel and July 16th at St Michaels Catholic Church. On July8th, the drive will be at the Danville LDS Chapel (see website below for address and times).To Donate: Sign up on-line at www.rollupyoursleeve.info for eligibility requirements and schedule ofavailable appointments (or email the coordinator with your name, phone & time request).The Inter-Faith drive was organized by the Most Reverend Salvatore Cordileone, Bishop of the CatholicDiocese of Oakland with leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This coordinatedblood drive will be at various locations every day in July (except Sundays and July 4th).Volunteers can also help that day with Check-In and Refreshments, if you can help for a 3 hour block,please contact the coordinator. Shifts are from 8 to 11 and 11 to 2, or setup at 6am, takedown at 2pm.Local Participating Groups are: Amador Valley High School Athletic Boosters, St. Raymonds CatholicChurch - Dublin, Catholic Community of Pleasanton (CCOP), John Knox Presbyterian - Dublin, The Churchof Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, St Michaels Catholic Church – Livermore.
