Pleasanton School Featured as 'Cool School' on CBS 5

Learn about the noteworthy P.E. program at Lydiksen Elementary that builds muscles and fitness while teaching leadership and compassion.

Lydiksen Elementary school was recently chosen as part of the "Cool School" series on KPIX CBS new Channel 5 in San Francisco because of the unique physical education program that joins fifth grade classes with first grade students with special needs twice a week.

According to KPIX, the mentoring program began over 15 years ago. P.E. teacher Paul Stewart told KPIX, "That's one of the great things about this program... something I didn't really realize was going to happen when we started was that is was going to be such a great lesson for the fifth graders."

KPIX reported that Lydiksen is "nearly 99 percent bully-free" due in large part to the mentoring P.E. program.
