Hero's Homecoming for Army Chief Warrant Officer

Pleasanton Military Families welcomed a solider back to Pleasanton

After 13 years of military service, Army Chief Warrant Officer Peter Bui was welcomed home to Pleasanton on June 22. Bui, an Amador Valley High School graduate, was greeted with a Warriors Watch motocycle escort, along with friends and family, all flying their American flag colors in support of Bui's service to the country. The Pleasanton Military Families non-profit organization hosted the festivities.

In 2000 at the age of 17 Peter enlisted in the Army Reserve while he was a senior at Amador Valley High.

He graduated in 2001 and was sent to Fort Jackson, SC for Basic Training and also began undergraduate studies at UC Santa Cruz.

In 2002, he became an Intelligence Analyst at the US Army Intelligence Center for Advanced Individual Training.

From 2004 to 2005 he deployed to Iraq & Kuwait for Operation Iraqi Freedom 2 and was promoted to Sergeant where he served as a Non-CommissionedOfficer with the Intelligence Staff. 

In 2007, he graduated from UC Santa Cruz and worked for PriceWaterhouse Cooper and was promoted to Staff Sergeant. Commissioned into the Warrant Officer Corps in Military Intelligence in 2009. 

In 2011, he completed Deputy Sheriff Academy and worked for Santa Clara County Sheriff Department and was promoted to his current rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. From July 2012 to May 2013, he deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom and served as an Intelligence Officer.
