For the fourth summer Tri-Valley Community TV also known as TV30 is offering two sessions of a unique TV Summer Camp available to middle school and high school students in the Tri-Valley. The first camp took place the week of June 11th and the second session begins August 6th.
Ten campers from Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and Hayward participated in the five day camp in June. The result is a special TV program produced by the students titled Tri-Valley Youth View. This one-hour special is currently airing on TV 30 (see schedule at end of release).
"We had a super group of 'new producers' in our June camp,” noted Melissa Tench-Stevens, Executive Director of TV30. “We have a couple of spots remaining in the August camp. Students in that camp will interview guests Livermore Mayor John Marchand and former Oakland Raider Napoleon Kaufman, among others.”
Under the direction of Camp Director, Mitch Eason, the hands-on TV Camp provides an introduction to the technical and talent aspects of studio and field production. Tri-Valley Youth View was written and produced by the middle and high school students. They researched and wrote questions, acted as crew for all the production positions and were talent for the program.
Guests on the current episode include Dublin Mayor Tim Sbranti who is interviewed about his job as Mayor, Dr. Marshall Kamena talks about coin collecting, Lee Jouthas from the , Jennifer Amiel with the Pleasanton Museum on Main, Lisa Healy from Tri-Valley Animal Rescue and Nancy Mulligan from the Livermore Hertiage Guild.
