VIDEO: Rachel Maddow Gives Castro Valley High Journalism Students Exclusive Interview

Though hundreds of people showed up in Berkeley to see MSNBC television host Rachel Maddow speak about her first published book Drift: The Unmooring of Political Military Power, a small group of student journalists were the ones to score an exclusive interview with the CVHS alum.

Right before taking the stage at Berkeley's Martin Luther King Middle School, she sat with six students from The Olympian to talk about what it was like growing up in Castro Valley, how she stumbled into a media career and the commencement address she gave at her 1990 CVHS graduation.

Castro Valley Patch Editor Analisa Harangozo (also a proud alum of CVHS) shot the video (accompanying the story), but couldn't have done it alone.
