The China Daily is the official Communist Party English print newspaper and is distributed freely to people throughout China each day. This morning I woke up to find the China Daily Newspaper in my driveway.
I was surprised to say the least. The China Daily is the English voice for China Politburo Standing committee and its 2,300 delegates. The delegates will be gathering in a few short months to rubber stamp new leadership at the top of the Communist Party.
I traveled often in China on business during the nineties and was always pleased to be provided the English print China Daily Newspaper. I read it every morning with my breakfast.
In reading the China Daily I was able to learn who the foreign diplomats were currently visiting with Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zemin and have an idea as to what business they were dealing.
Deng replaced Mao Zedong and prior to his death, Deng installed Zemin with Hu the current president to follow in Zemin footsteps.
Today there is a huge power struggle going on for the leadership role. it will be a knock down drag out affair.
The China Daily in my driveway this morning was also in the driveways of the entire neighborhood.
On pages nine through twelve one can read the new National Human Rights Action plan of China.
China is obviously trying to convince the world that they are out front with human rights, that China provides for the people, that they permit the people to work, to make money. They, the people, just have to keep their mouths shut, no descent.
Also on the inside you can read on the Chinese providing acupuncture to animals. I got to wonder how the animal communicates what it is that ails it. Then how the practitioner determines where the point of the needles should be placed.
