Foothill High School to Erect a New Scoreboard on the Football Field

I have concluded after looking at the numbers, that this new scoreboard can certainly generate six figure income in its first year.

I received a letter from vice principle Lori Vella announcing the new scoreboard at . The letter, addressed to "OCCUPANT" invited occupant to stop by and see plans for the scoreboard on Thursday June 7, at 4:30 p.m. at the football field.

According to Lori's letter, "a number of sponsors and generous donors will be providing the funds for a new scoreboard for our stadium complex. The existing scoreboard is over 20 years old and we are excited about the new technology that is available. The new scoreboard will be in the same location as the existing one."

"Current plans are for the new scoreboard to be about 26 feet high by 25 feet wide, and it will include a video display. The video display will have an auto-dimming feature, which will ensure it is only as bright as necessary during the day or night."

"At this time, there will not be any changes to the sound system. We believe that, although the scoreboard may be partially visible to some neighbors as the existing one is, the new one will not be intrusive or a significant detraction to any neighbor."

I attended the meeting to see the plans for the new scoreboard. Also in attendance was the Foothill vice principal, two officers representing Foothill Athletic  Boosters, and three people including me from the immediate neighborhood.

It was a fun and lively meeting, full of discussion. I am glad I attended the meeting and met the others. The meeting was held at the top of the bleachers at the football field across from the aquatic center.

The new scoreboard for Foothill High School football field will be produce by the same company that produced the Oakland Coliseum scoreboard and several other score boards in the Bay Area.

The new scoreboard is income producing, by way of the advertising it will generate and provide when in use during the many sports events at the field during the course of the school year.

After the meeting I studied the numbers provided to me by the Boosters and have concluded that this new scoreboard can certainly generate six figure income in its first year of use.

The cost of the scoreboard is just over two hundred thousand dollars and will be covered by the sponsors and generous donors. I believe it is a good deal for the students, for the school and for the community.

This is a good time for all of you executives out there if you have kids in this school or will be going to this school when they are older, to jump on this wagon and advertise, get your company name out there.

Vice principle Lorie Vella also fielded several concerns regarding stadium lights remaining on all night on occasions following some events. Also, to concerns about accumulation of flammable trash between the schools chain link fence and neighborhood fences.

Lori promised to address these issues with the proper people. Lori is available for questions from the neighborhood and asked that neighbors that have questions to please call her 925-461-6653.

The bottom of the new scoreboard will be 12 feet off the ground, with the top of the scoreboard at 35 feet off the ground.
