New Leaf Community Markets says "Thanks" with tasting fair, Sept 28

New Leaf is celebrating its first autumn in Pleasanton with a festive grand opening PURVEYORS' FAIR. Families are invited to join in the fun on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 12 pm – 4 pm. Admission is free.

“We want to thank the community for the warm welcome New Leaf has received, and introduce the producers of our products to them,” said Mark McKinney, New Leaf store manager.

The fair will feature samples and tasting of some 40 food and beverage vendors, wine tasting, big bounce house, artisanal food demonstrations, old-timey games, and face painting. Live music will be provided by the six-member Rock and Roll band based in Livermore, the Max Cruise band, from 1 pm – 3 pm.

Two $5 barbequed lunch specials will be offered at New Leaf’s Goodness Grill: a barbequed Smart Chicken sausage served with garlic bread and salad, or veggie burger, and bottled water.

New Leaf opened its doors at 3550 Bernal Ave in Pleasanton on May 15 and business has been increasing each month as area residents discover the unique, wholesome food and nutrition and body care products carried within. Customers are attracted to the store’s large selection of fresh seasonal produce, natural and organic meats, and sustainable seafood. Also popular are features patterned after those in other New Leaf stores: the deli, fresh salad bar, antipasti bar, hot bar, juice bar, sushi, gourmet cheeses, and local wines. New Leaf customer Canna Yamamoto is enthusiastic to have New Leaf in the neighborhood:  “I am so happy New Leaf came to Pleasanton. I am here at least three times a week. Yay for local and organic!”
